Empathy is one of the most powerful and transformative traits we emphasize through Goal 13, yet it is often overlooked in competitive environments. At its core, empathy is the ability to understand and share in the experiences of others. For our student-athletes, this means recognizing that every teammate brings their own challenges, pressures, and stories into the locker room. When empathy is present, teams become more connected, communication improves, and trust deepens. It shifts the focus from individual success to collective support and growth.
