Holden Trent Community Cup: March 2026

HPU and UNC teams honoring Holden before the game

The Holden Trent Community Cup was held March 28, 2026 and was much more than just a day of soccer. It was a joyful celebration of Holden’s life, using the sport he loved to bring people together in a meaningful way.

We are incredibly grateful to Carolina Core FC, High Point University Men’s Soccer, and UNC Men’s Soccer for participating in such a special event. Their willingness to be part of something bigger than the game itself helped make the day unforgettable for everyone involved.

The two most meaningful moments of the day included honoring Anthony Ramirez as the second recipient of the Holden Trent Memorial Scholarship and recognizing our first group of student-athletes for completing Goal 13’s character education program. These young men have spent months engaging in a series of conversations and lessons, learning what it truly means to live with character on and off the field. Each of these young men received a special Goal 13 sweatshirt, reserved only for the young student-athletes and mentors that complete the program.Watching them reach this moment was a wonderful reminder of why the work Goal 13 is doing matters.

Funds were raised to further our mission. Friendships were renewed and strengthened. And most importantly, Holden was honored in the most fitting way—through the game that shaped so much of who he was. The Holden Trent Community Cup continues to remind us that athletics has the power to unite, to inspire, and to teach. It is through moments like these that Holden’s legacy lives on—not only in memory, but in action.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, gave, played, and believed in what we are building together.
